Never print your resume/cover letter on cheap, thin paper-like that used for photocopies. Print papers can be found in different qualities, and employers can see the difference. Print papers that include cotton fibers have a richer surface texture and feel that is suitable to get a professional-looking resume.
Most stationery and office-supply stores carry greater papers, as do quick-printshops. Although most resumes are produced/printed on white, off-white, bone, or ivory colored paper, you may also use other light colors in shades of tan or gray, but we don't recommend pink, green, or red tints. Avoid heavily textured, dark print papers; they will not make clean photocopies and can not allow the text to show up properly if your printed resume is scanned into a company’s database.
